A Collective Haul

Some of you Guys that follow me on instagram might know that this year I am on an alternative month "All things beauty" related spending ban. In a attempt to curve my out of control addiction to buying makeup or that is what my boyfriend tells me anyway haha! I do have to admit though I have been rather good on the months I have been banned. April however the ban was lifted and I SHOPPED. Suprisingly though I didn't go wild. (Well at least not in my eyes!)

What's In My Makeup Bag?

Hey Guys, Yesterday I asked on Instagram for some inspiration and what you guy's would like to see here on my blog. Daily_Dose_Of_Pretty asked to see a "What's In My Makeup Bag" post and I loved that idea, so here we are!

My Makeup Bag (From Next £5)

I suppose I should start off by saying I don't carry a massive makeup bag around with me. I carry this little pouch which I try to keep the contents to a minimum, however I'm sure there is a few 100 lip products floating around at the bottom of my handbag at the moment.

Face Products

For my face I only like to carry what I need. These 3 products are my essentials!

1. Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder. £39. I wear shade No.10. I use this as a powder generally however it gives enough punch to be able to just wear a little concealer and no foundation.
2. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. £22. I wear shade Chantilly. All I have to say about this concealer is that I am OBESSED. I am extremely particular when it comes to concealers (and my base in general) and this concealer just ticks all the right boxes. Its multi purpose for me it conceals and illuminates under my eyes and makes spots or blemishes completely undetectable.
3. Chanel Les Beiges Retractable Kabuki Brush. £35. Not only is this the softest brush in the whole entire world (maybe a tad dramatic) it is a dense synthetic brush perfect for applying powder, especially Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder. Perfect for on the go or if your like me- perfect for sitting stroking your face with haha.

Eye Products
Again carrying tons of eye products around with me is just unnecessary. So I only carry what I might need to touch up.

1. Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara. £18 (Full Size). I am lucky enough to have naturally long lashes to begin with but this mascara doubles my lashes in length and volume. I just LOVE it. I don't find there is any flaking and I don't end up looking like a panda by the end of the day, Always a bonus! The full size mascara is a firm favourite in my collection so when I received this deluxe sample size I knew it would be perfect for my makeup bag.
2. Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara. £12Shade Black. I don't know how my bottom lashes survived without this product. I'm not entirely sure if its the product formulation or the mascara wand which makes this product amazing either way I love it. Again there is no panda eyes insight. BONUS.
3. Barry M Bold Waterproof Eyeliner. £3.99. Who doesn't need a black pencil eyeliner? and it's waterproof. I find a black pencil so useful it can take any eye look from day to night.
4. Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Liner. £3.99. Shade Nude. Again a nude pencil is so useful! I especially love Rimmel Scandal Eyes because they're so cheap and waterproof- they literally last all day. Shade Nude is perfect for brightening up my eyes and making me look more awake than I actually am.

Lip Products
I'd completely be lying if I said I needed to carry this many lip products with me every day plus the product I was wearing that day, but I do and I'm not going to stop haha.

1. L'Oreal Paris Rouge Caresse Lipstick. £7.99. Shade Dating Coral. I have a very love/ hate relationship with this shade of lipstick, Obviously I currently love it. The formulation of these lipsticks are amazing so moisturising, smooth, glossy and just the right amount of pigmentation. Surprisingly I find the lasting power is also amazing for a "Balm" like product.
2. Mac Lipstick. £15. Shade Lovelorn. Lustre Finish. My go to lipstick, if I'm ever in doubt this is always the lipstick I gravitate towards. It is the perfect shade of pink for my very pale complexion.
3. Nyx Mega Shine Lip Gloss. £4.50. Shade Beige. I've repurchased this lipgloss twice now and I have to say I'm not a lipgloss kinda gal. It's none sticky, smells divine and is a gorgeous shade of pink.
4. Kiehl's Lip Balm. £9.50. In Mango. I'm currently addicted to the flavour of this lipbalm, luckily the balm it's self is just as amazing as the flavour! A few weeks back my lips suddenly became badly chapped, flaky and sore (Disgusting I know!) This lip balm came to the rescue and completely heeled my lips and gave me soft ,smooth lips.
5. Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub. £5.50. A cult beauty product. This product just does the job. Not much else to say. Oh and it smells (and tastes) amazing too.

I won't ramble on anymore! I hope you've enjoyed seeing What's In My Makeup Bag. I love post's like this and having a good old neb!

Ok, Let's get this show on the road!

So I thought my first blog post should be a little "Get to know me" kinda post!

Hello, My name is Ashleigh and I'm a beauty addict. There I said it, the first step to my recovery haha. I am a 21 year old studying Adult Nursing at Northumbria University, However I am currently taking some time off my course and decided this would be the perfect time to itch the craving to dabble in beauty.

I have always had a interest in beauty and fashion. My biggest love is makeup! I have read blogs and watched YouTube video's for a few years now and just recently plucked up the courage to start my own beauty related Instagram account. (A little self promotion right there haha!)

I have been humming and harring for a month or two now about making a blog, however at the weekend I surprisingly hit 1,000 followers on Instagram which completely blew me away. I just can not comprehend 100 people let alone 1,000 people being interested in what I have to say. Anyway this is what has kicked me up the backside to eventually make this blog! So here I am writing my first blog post, eeek!

What to expect on my blog? Mainly beauty with a bit of fashion and lifestyle posts. Just somewhere I can throw my opinion in to the mix! I haven't decided on an upload routine or anything yet, I'm just going to roll with it as the kid's like to say these days! haha.

(Also something you should know about me. I think I am hilarious at all times!)

So this is my first official blog post and I will wrap things up here.
